Welcome to the web site of Byers Bandits - a group of golf-minded individuals who take pleasure from each others company and who tolerate bad golf. We are regulars and members of Weybrook Park Golf Club in Basingstoke and play on most Saturday mornings at around 8.00 a.m.

We were formed in 2002 from two smaller groups of golfers who fancied a change from who they regularly played with. Byers (photo left), who the group is named after, does most of the organisation. We are a friendly group that welcome new players to our midst. Enthusiasm is more important than handicap although a desire to improve is a must. Due to injury Byers is reluctantly taking a rest from golf at the moment. From 2008 is has been agreed that a Captain be appointed. Terry Tuxford is the 2008 Bandits Captain. |
Our Saturday events include a £1 per person wager and is based on a Stableford Competition - winner takes all. The exception to this is the monthly medal, where a fee of £2 is paid with three cash prizes being awarded plus a special donated prize for the winner and the opportunity to own the coveted Frog Golf Club Cover for a month.
We keep our own group handicaps thanks to Byers, who maintains these records on the group's behalf.
