We run monthly working trial training days for members on the first Sunday of
the month. Please contact Mrs Sharon Carter Each training event is run by one of the SATS Committee members, which means the emphasis and training methods can be nicely varied. All members have successfully competed in Obedience, Working Trials or Agility and each brings with them their experience and ideas to share.
|
The training days are organised to provide an opportunity for members to:

The farm provides a range of terrains, including livestock fields (without the livestock in them of course) and a variety of arable crop, ploughed or set-aside land depending upon the time of year. During the Spring, Summer and Autumn months, March to November, the farm has a tea shop for refreshments and at other times members bring packed lunches and flasks.
|
Each day begins with tracking and searching, as the fields must be unspoiled for these exercises. Once they are finished then it doesnt matter who wanders around which fields so then we are able to use the same land for training sendaways, jumps and the range of control exercises.

Members are asked to think about the things they need particular help with and bring a couple of ideas to help get focussed. We always seem to cover a bit of everything and make a point of helping individuals that bring particular problems that they need help with. We have a very relaxed and friendly regular group of members that attend so the time flies and we have a lot of fun. |
