My feathers were strange and I lowered my face, my wings defied description!

My brothers and sisters were exactly the same.

I gradually learned I was "Interesting".

I was taken to a land far across the sea.

I waited and wondered "would they find a partner for me?"

With hope I held my head up high and I wanted to cry –

"Give my a chance! I know I can breed much better than I!"

I dreamed a dream that could never be.

That fame and honour would come to me.

But my offspring are found all over the globe.

Powerful, Confident, Colourful and Bold.

Time has passed and I have been long laid to rest.

But my spirit lives on, "Challenging to be the Best".

At the end of this era we have reigned Supreme.
